Dave + Stacy: Jersey City, New Jersey Wedding

FILED IN: weddings

Stacy and Dave compliment each other perfectly. Stacy glided around their apartment Sunday morning getting ready, rounding up things for their two beautiful daughters, and chatted with her mom and friends, and Dave called attention to things Stacy might have forgotten and reminded her that we were running a few (45) minutes behind. While their personalities are a little different, they agree on some pretty amazing things: their sense of humor, love for mid-century modern design, and above all else – their daughters are the best. Stacy and Dave’s daughters, Estelle and Sylvia were a huge part of their parents’ big day. From getting ready in the morning to literally standing by their side during the ceremony, Estelle and Sylvia were integrated into every moment of the day.

We started the day in Stacy and Dave’s beautiful loft style apartment in Jersey City, New Jersey. I had so much incorporating the couple’s style and love of modern design into their detail pictures. Stacy and Dave love mid century design so much that Stacy’s engagement ring is actually made of lucite. It’s the perfect symbol of their personalities and love (and it was so much fun photographing a translucent ring)!

Stacy’s friends did her hair and make-up and in her Nicole Miller wedding dress, Stacy transformed into a drop dead gorgeous bride. Even in her dress and heels and in his suit and tie, Stacy and Dave never pressed pause on their duties as mommy and daddy.

Before heading to the ceremony, we made time for some quick portraits on the roof of Stacy and Dave’s apartment building with this fun graffiti wall. The wind was crazy and it was freezing out, but Stacy absolutely rocked it out!

Their wedding ceremony was held at Carrino Provisions in Jersey City. It’s an Italian Marketplace with serious flair attached to Talde Jersey City, brought to you by Top Chef contestant Dale Talde. Upstairs, where the ceremony took place, was beautifully lit with a black brick wall that allowed all attention to be on the happy couple. Downstairs, where Stacy and Dave signed their Ketubah and the reception would take place, was a maze of dark rooms where the furniture, bars, and art set the mood.

After the ceremony, guests headed downstairs to finish the celebration with some amazing food, drinks, and for dessert – donuts!

When the party was over and the guests had cleared out, we headed to the nearby J. Owen Grundy Pier to take some photos in front of the breathtaking New York City skyline. Again, the wind was intense and I was surprised Stacy didn’t blow away entirely, but Stacy and Dave braved the breeze and looked amazing doing it!
