Products I Love: H.H. Boogie

Last year I started offering beautiful leather albums to my clients and I’ve absolutely loved designing every page for my brides and grooms, but I understand that bound albums aren’t for everyone. That’s where H.H. Boogie comes in.

You know that old shoebox you have filled with pictures, notes, and movie tickets from High School? How just opening the lid of that box fills you with memories? How you can spend hours slowly flipping through the pictures and remembering the moments before and after the shutter snapped? This is that shoebox, grown up. And instead of cardboard this is a beautifully handcrafted, Amish-made, wooden box.

H.H. Boogie is a company that sells “unbound” albums. They believe that the beginning and end of an album is a little limiting. Your story isn’t over and it’s going to change as your grow – unbound albums can be as flexible as you are. All of the pictures below are of one of their “chapter” albums, meaning that it’s a little smaller and are designed to hold a chapter of your life.

I’ve been hearing amazing things about H.H. Boogie for a long time and wanted to test out their products for myself before offering them to my clients. So I order an “Evan” album for myself to hold our wedding photos. So while I took all of the photos you see here showing off the beauty of the Evan, the amazing Angela Fortin took the photos inside of the box (because I wasn’t crazy enough to photograph my own wedding).

The inside of the Evan has a place for 4×6 fine art prints on one side and room for mementos on the other. The Evan also comes with three small empty vials for you to fill with memories.

In the box, I have 150 4×6 prints of my favorite images from my wedding that I wrapped in ribbons from my wedding day. I filled my vials with the extra beading from my wedding dress that was removed when it was hemmed, a small piece of the succulents that decorated our venue, and some scraps of fabric that were the backdrop of our ceremony.

I could not be happier with the way that my Evan chapter album turned out. The box is beautifully crafted and the perfect size to sit on a bookshelf, coffee table, or display shelf. And I am so excited to start offering these to my clients. I love imagining all of the possibilities from weddings to newborn lifestyle sessions!

Your photos may be digital, but they weren’t meant to live on your hard-drive. Print your pictures, people!

Keep smiling!
