Clay + Kait: Carroll, Ohio Engagement Session

Clay and Kait were high school sweethearts and as far back as anyone can remember - Clay and Kait belonged together. So when it came time for Clay to pop the question on a trip to Bruning, Nebraska where Kait's entire family hails from, he might have been a little anxious. On the plane Kait launched into a monologue of all the reasons she loved Clay and why she was so happy to be with him and Clay got nervous. Did she know he was going to propose? At a local mall when Kait told Clay they should look at rings, Clay got really worried and tried to throw Kait off the engagement trail - by telling her they were never going to get married! So when Clay finally did drop to one knee and asked the biggest question of his life, Kait was surprised and thrilled and insanely happy - all the things a girl should feel when her high school sweetheart promises her the rest of his life. We met up for Kait and Clay's engagement session at Chesnut Ridge Metro Park in Carroll, Ohio last Sunday just before sunset. Kait took us on a short hike to a bridge she and Clay had visited before and that's when the fun began. Clay is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, but this man immediately tenses up in front of a camera. Kait and I spent the next hour and a half teasing Clay and brainstorming ways of loosening him up and getting a genuine smile out of him. By the time their session was over my cheeks hurt from laughing so much and I think we got some pretty amazing pictures of the two, but I'll let you be the judge. ;) Clay and Kait - thank you so much for spending such a beautiful Sunday evening with me!
