The table numbers at their reception told their whole story. From their first date at Cup O’Joe, to the first meals they cooked for each other, to the day he asked her to be his wife. Ryan and Emily filled their wedding in Upper Arlington on Saturday with personal details and welcomed their guests to become part of their love story by joining them on their special day.
Their day started with a gorgeous Catholic ceremony at St. Andrews Church in Upper Arlington.
After the ceremony, guests headed right down the road to the OSU Golf Course for the reception. Every aspect of the reception’s decorations was gorgeous and incredibly personal. The pictures of their family that surrounded the guest book, the hand designed table numbers that gave guests a closer look at the beginning of Emily and Ryan’s relationship, down to the monogrammed ivory cake – everything was one of a kind and tailored perfectly to their love story. Even the floral arrangements were DIY!
Did I mention that Emily and Ryan tied the knot on Derby Day? I absolutely loved the way everyone gathered around the TV for the two most exciting minutes in sports.
After the reception events Emily and Ryan snuck outside with me to the golf course for some sunset portraits. The lighting was soft and dreamy and Emily and Ryan were relaxed and just content to be with each other in the moment.
I honestly can’t get over how gorgeous Emily was in her dress. In another touch of perfect personalization, Emily had the straps added to her originally strapless dress and I couldn’t imagine the dress any other way.
After the portraits Emily and Ryan rejoined their guests to finish out the night dancing. The dance floor was still full for the last song, a Flogging Molly song, that had everyone stomping their feet, trying their hand at an Irish jig, and laughing until their cheeks hurt.
Ryan and Emily, Thank you so so much for allowing Blake and I to be a part of your special day. We were so honored to capture your memories and all of the love and time you put into your wedding day. I absolutely adore the way you two interact with each other and I know that your wedding is only a chapter in a much longer love story you’ll write together! Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!
Keep smiling!
