The sun pouring in through the ballroom windows filled the room with a magical glow that warmed everything it touched. The tables, chairs, place settings, and centerpieces were exquisite and laid out with the greatest of care. The chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and the ornate, floor to ceiling windows were breathtaking, but none of that compared to the moment that was unfolding over by the larger-than-life fireplace. Stephen, nervously holding his breath, was waiting for his bride to enter through the double doors and officially begin the best day of their lives.
Sarah and Stephen’s dream wedding began at the Athletic Club of Columbus where Sarah and her bridesmaids got ready upstairs while Stephen and his groomsmen prepared downstairs in the library. Once the dresses were on and the boutonnieres were in place, Sarah and Stephen shared an absolutely touching first look in the room where, in just a few short hours, they would share their first dance as husband and wife.
After the tears were dried from the first look we headed outside around the corner for some bridal party pictures and portraits of Stephen and Sarah.
As a wedding photographer, November weddings always make me a little nervous because you can never tell what Ohio weather has in store for us. But it was as if Columbus was holding on to the last of its gorgeous leaves just for Sarah and Stephen when we walked a little further down the street to discover a beautiful courtyard at the peak of fall color.
Sarah and Stephen’s wedding ceremony was held at Jersey Baptist Church in Pataskala, Ohio. The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous and I found myself smiling the entire ceremony, seeing the way these two looked at each other the entire ceremony and how excited they were to finally be married at the end!
Back at the Athletic Club in Columbus, the party began. Sarah and Stephen made a spectacular entrance, received a touching welcome speech and prayer from each of their fathers, laughed during toasts, and cut the cake all before opening up the dance floor with their first dances. When it was time to leave, Sarah and Stephen could still be found on the dance floor, surrounded by their friends, dancing like no one was watching. Which, to me, is the best way to end a night.
Stephen and Sarah – Congratulations! Thank you so much for letting Blake and I be a part of your day! It was so heart warming being with you two as you started the rest of your lives together! And getting to know your amazing friends and family was an added bonus! I’m so excited for the two of you and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for your love!
Keep smiling!
Kaylina
