Zach and Madison met in college at a party. Shortly after meeting Zach, she remembers telling her best friend that Zach was the one for her. Actually, according to Madison, her exact words were, “I’m going to marry the sh*t out of him”. If you don’t know Madison, that sentence gives you a good glimpse of her personality: she’s bold, she’s dedicated, she knows exactly what she wants and she makes it happen. And while the statement doesn’t capture everything about her – she’s also stunning, sweet, and playful – it does do a great job of summing up last Saturday, where Zach and Madison married the sh*t out of each other.
The wedding was held at The Barn on Enchanted Acres in Dennison, Ohio, a small, relatively new venue that is gorgeous and brings its own rustic charm to each wedding. The barn has separate bridal and groom suites for the girls and guys to get ready in and that’s where we started the day. After everyone was dressed, the bridal party celebrated with toasts, and then it was time for the first looks. First, Madison shared a sweet first look with her father before heading out into the main area of the barn for her first look with Zach.
After the first look, Zach and Madison joined their Rabbi, immediate family, and bridal party on the back patio to sign their ketubah. While all ketubahs represent the couple who are entering into the covenant, this one was especially significant because Madison made it herself. She painted the ketubah with the seven species of Israel and hand lettered the gorgeous Hebrew script.
When it was time for the ceremony, the guests made their way down to a small platform surrounded by fields to celebrate Zach and Madison officially becoming husband and wife. The ceremony was beautiful and the Rabbi did a great job of explaining each of the Jewish traditions Madison and Zach performed to make each symbolic gesture that much more meaningful.
While the guests enjoyed the amazing hors d’œuvres, Zach, Madison, and their bridal party stayed out in the hot sun to take a few pictures before treating themselves to some well deserved cold drinks.
When the reception finally began, Zach and Madison kicked it off by dancing to Brooks & Dunn’s ‘Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You’ as their first dance. From there on out, the rest of the night was about Madison and Zach having the best time with their friends and family. Both Madison and Zach were a part of greek life in college, and their friends did not disappoint in bringing a legendary party to life for Zach and Madison’s big day. There were drinking games outside, keg stands after the Horah, and the couple topped off the night by treating everyone to Swensons food truck.
