It’s all about timing. Kelly and Lauren met in high school, but they were each dating other people, so they became friends. When they went to the same college after high school, Lauren made sure to wake Kelly up in time for lunch and maybe a few classes. After college, Kelly and Lauren lost touch for a while, but living in the same small town meant Lauren’s running route went right by Kelly’s work. And one night, as Lauren was running, Kelly pulled up in his truck to say “hi”. Lauren said she ran the fastest she’s even run to get home that night to tell her mom that she had just seen Kelly O’Brien and text him. This time, the timing was right, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Kelly and Lauren were so much fun to shoot with Saturday night. It was sweltering hot out and both Kelly and I were sweating like crazy, but these two were such troopers during the entire process. We met up at the private residence of a friend of theirs on the Hoover Reservoir in Galena, Ohio. We hung out around the most adorable little barn out front, the house itself, and then made our way to the dock for sunset.
Guys, let me tell you, this house is not even finished being built yet and I was in love. All white everything, 80% windows, and 100% shiplap – I thought I died and went to photographer’s heaven. You’ll see what I mean.
Owen, their dog/only child, was absolutely adorable and did such a good job posing for a few pictures.
Kelly and Lauren – you guys are AMAZING! I had such a great time with you guys on Saturday. Thank you so much for sweating it out with me! I am so excited for the wedding in September – I know it is going to be absolutely PERFECT!
