Micah and Chris met in college. Both in love with music and teaching, they soon found themselves in love with each other. Micah’s generous heart pairs perfectly with Chris’s larger-than-life smile. They bring peace to each other – knowing you’ve found your soul mate will do that for you.
Saturday morning Micah got ready for her wedding in the house she grew up in. She had her hair and make-up done with her best friends by her side and plenty of laughter to fill the big house. Chris and his guys prepared for the day at the Mariott Hotel near the Columbus airport doing whatever guys do when they get ready for a wedding – I still don’t really know.
After heading to the church and slipping in to her dress, Micah was the picture of perfection but there was something missing – a quick hidden session with Chris and a tearful first look with her dad calmed those nerves and made the reality that the big day was finally here sink in.
The ceremony was short (for a Catholic ceremony) and before you knew it, Chris and Micah were officially husband and wife!
After the ceremony Chris, Micah, and their wedding party headed to Arch Park in the Arena District for some fun wedding portraits. Construction around the Arch stopped us from taking full advantage of the structure, but nothing was going to stop these guys from celebrating on their big day.Back at the reception at The Clocktower Columbus, Chris and Micah kicked off the party with their super sweet first dance.
After toasts and dinner, the dance floor was opened for Micah’s dance with her dad and Chris’s dance with his mom. I absolutely love photographing these special dances. I almost always tear up during this part of the night and watching Chris and Micah dance with their parents was no exception.
After everyone had dried their happy tears, it was party time! Glo-sticks, cookies, and cake for everyone!
Micah and Chris – thank you times a million for letting Blake and I photograph your wedding day! It was such an honor to be there with you guys as you started your new life together. Getting to know your friends and your family, it is obvious how much love fills your lives and I wish the absolute best for you two in the future!
Keep smiling!
Kaylina
