Planning a Pinterest Wedding – Part 4: The Guestbook

FILED IN: for brides, tips

Guest books are great. In theory. It makes sense that you’d want to remember who was at your wedding. But unless you have enough friends to fill up an entire book – you may want to rethink how you decide to commemorate their attendance. So here are 10 other ideas to use as “guest books” (not counting the two I already gave you in Part 1).

1. Family Bible – Have guests highlight their favorite verses and sign their name nearby. Then continue to use the Bible for years to come as your Family Bible.

2. Finger Painting – Have guests leave something that’s truly unique – their fingerprints. I’ve seen this done using the fingers as leaves or balloons. Get creative!

3. Furniture – Have guests sign a bench or wooden rocker and leave messages on something you will use and enjoy in the future.

4. Time Capsule – Have your guests leave you a message to read a predetermined time in the future. Or if you like to spread out your gifts like I do, have each table write a message for X years in the future.

5. Calendar – Have guests find their birthdays on a calendar and leave their name. It’s a guest book you’ll actually look at and a handy way to make sure you remember the birthdays of those near and dear.

6. Date Night – Have guests write a date idea on a tongue depressor. Easy and cute.

7. Rock of Love – Have guests sign and leave messages on a rock. Sounds weird but they make a beautiful centerpiece when put into a vase.

8. Game Night – Have guests sign a puzzle or pieces of a game that you two enjoy. It’s a way to have fun while looking back and remembering your wedding night.

9. Shake it like a Polaroid – Combine this with your seating chart. Have guests find their names and replace it with a picture of them. Use all of the pictures to make the best wedding album ever. (Photographers note: please don’t actually shake Polaroid pictures)

10. Quilt It – Have guests sign pieces of fabric or have a quilt already made for them to sign. It’s a beautiful (and cozy) way to remember your guests.

11. Use Your Pictures – Blow up your favorite engagement picture on a canvas for your guests to sign or make an album from your engagement session and have them sign that. You can check out more way to use your pictures in Part 1 of Planning a Pinterest Wedding.

I had a hard time finding sources for these but here are the few I found – 1) Angela-Tucker.com 2) Love from the Thumb on etsy.com 4)WeddingWhims 7) Luminaire Foto
