When I first walked into the womens locker room at the Ohio State University Golf Club on Saturday, Kenley rushed up to greet me. It’s not everyday that a little girl’s mommy and daddy gets married and she was taking her role as maid of honor, best man, and flower girl very seriously. Even as Elizabeth slipped into her dress, Kenley was picking up the train and fluffing it just the way she’d been taught at the bridal shop.
Elizabeth and Zach wouldn’t call themselves “traditional”. They met, fell in love, and started a beautiful little family with Kenley at the center. When it came time to plan a wedding, they wanted something small. But as anyone who has planned a wedding knows, plans tend to grow with time. Although the day was a little grander than they had originally thought, I know both Zach and Elizabeth appreciated the love and support from the guests who had come from all over the country to celebrate with them.
We started the afternoon with a first look for Zach and Elizabeth in the shade of an old tree right outside the clubhouse. Elizabeth was absolutely stunning in her gown and everything from her earrings to her bouquet complimented the dress’s vintage, deco feel.
After family pictures it was time for the ceremony! Zach and Elizabeth had an indoor ceremony with their guests seated around them. The inside of the club was gorgeous with light streaming in through the windows to give Zach and Elizabeth a natural spotlight while they stood at the altar.
When the ceremony was over, Zach and Elizabeth had a reception line that ended at the bar so guests were encouraged to kick off the party and enjoy dinner.
After Zach and Elizabeth’s first dance, Elizabeth and her father and Zach and Kenley shared a father-daughter dance. Then Zach and his mother invited all the mother-son duos in attendance to also join them on the dance floor during their mother-son dance. As the night went on people mingled, danced, and had their caricatures drawn!
Zach and Elizabeth – thank you so much for sharing your special day with us! We had so much fun getting to know you and your families! You two are amazing people and parents and I hope you have an incredible time on your honeymoon!
Keep smiling!
Kaylina
