Meet Mia: In-Home Newborn Portraits | Columbus, Ohio

Meet Mia: In-Home Newborn Portraits | Columbus, Ohio

It’s amazing how quickly time flies. I first met this amazing family when they were a family of two with one on the way, and now I’m photographing the arrival of their newest bundle of joy: Mia Grace! Mia is one month old and already so loved by her mommy, daddy, older brother Howdy, and devoted guard dog Izzy. Their lifestyle family session this Sunday at their home in Clintonville was so much fun. Howdy kept us all on our toes, Mia refused to sleep, and Izzy disapprovingly kept an eye on me the whole time. I love all the candids we took documenting the day as Julie and Chris showed off their skills at being parents of two! Love all of her little faces! Howdy wasn’t a fan of sitting for family pictures, but he was more than happy to pose on his own. Seriously, such a cute family! Keep smiling!...
Cory + Jordan: Bright and Airy Tented Wedding at Lakes Golf & Country Club | Westerville, Ohio

Cory + Jordan: Bright and Airy Tented Wedding at Lakes Golf & Country Club | Westerville, Ohio

I walked into the women’s locker room at the Lakes Golf & Country Club in Westerville last Friday afternoon to a flurry of activity. Jordan and her 12 bridesmaids were putting the finishing touches on their hair and make-up while, on the other side of the building, Cory and his groomsmen casually sat outside on the huge, wrap-around porch of the country club enjoying the warm breeze and playing cards. Their wedding day was perfect – the grey clouds that loomed overhead at the beginning of the day gave way to golden sunshine and the nervous energy that ruled the morning became pure joy as Cory and Jordan said “I do” in front of their friends and family in a sun-soaked white tent on the grounds of the country club. Jordan is a graphic designer here in Columbus and she did an amazing job designing the invitation suite, programs, and menus for the wedding. Her classic shoes, lush bouquet, simple jewelry, and breathtaking dress were equally gorgeous and the perfect accents to Jordan’s big day. Jordan and Cory’s ceremony was beautiful. Light streamed into the tent from all sides while the couple exchanged rings and their own written vows. After the ceremony, we headed out to a gorgeous weeping willow on the country club’s property to celebrate and finish bridal party pictures. After we sent the bridal party to grab some drinks, Cory and Jordan spent twenty minutes posing, laughing, and walking the property – looking AMAZING every step of the way.  Seriously, these two are the cutest! Keep smiling! Kaylina Make sure to check out the amazing vendors...
Henry Family: Westerville, Ohio Family Portraits

Henry Family: Westerville, Ohio Family Portraits

Summer is the best time of the year. My Saturdays are full of weddings and my Sundays are full of adorable little ones with the most amazing parents. Last weekend I spent my Sunday morning with the Henry family and had so much fun getting to know Sydney and her mom and dad! Sydney has beautiful curls and big brown eyes, but most importantly, she’s smart, inquisitive, and such a delight to work with! Getting her warmed up to the camera was a little work, but once we turned on the Moana soundtrack, we were in business. 🙂 We shot this great, lifestyle family photo session last Sunday morning at Everal Barn & Homestead in Westerville, Ohio. This is one of my favorite locations in Columbus for family pictures because it is such a pretty location with the farm house, pond, and weeping willow. It also has shade at all times of the day which makes it a photographer’s dream! But mostly I love it because it’s secluded and never very busy, so we can take out time and linger on shots and settings we like without feeling rushed. Because Lord knows anything you can do to remove stress from family portraits is worth it! Love her natural smile! So beautiful! And these lashes! My, oh, my! Keep smiling!...
Chris + Lauren: Barn at Rush Creek Wedding | Athens, Ohio

Chris + Lauren: Barn at Rush Creek Wedding | Athens, Ohio

I often tell people that the few minutes between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the family pictures are my favorite of the whole wedding day. They’re not always the prettiest pictures, with everyone huddled around each other in the basement of a church, but for what these moments lack in gorgeous scenery, they make up in raw emotion. The bridal party swarms the bride and the groom, an overlap of voices shouting and laughing, and more than a few very happy tears. This past Saturday as I hugged Chris and offered him congratulations, I mentioned how beautiful Lauren was in her dress. He turned over his shoulder to look at his bride and simply said, “She is. She’s gorgeous. The most beautiful woman in the world.” It was such a simple and sweet moment, but it was the perfect summary of Lauren and Chris’s wedding day. Amidst a flurry of activity, Chris and Lauren were continuously grounding themselves in their love for each other. Their day had a little bit of everything: laughter, thunderstorms, fainting, power outages, dancing, and a whole lot of singing, but through it all, Lauren and Chris had the perfect wedding day because they had each other. We started out the day with the girls getting ready at the reception location, the Barn at Rush Creek. A gorgeous venues with cabins nearby for the bridal party and family members to stay and get ready in. The guys got ready at St. Paul’s in Athens, where the ceremony would be held. After the ceremony the bridal party and the newlyweds headed to...

Emma: 6 Month Lifestyle Baby Pictures | Everal Barn & Homestead, Westerville, Ohio

I have been surrounded by adorable baby Emmas recently and I’m not even the littlest bit mad about it. I mean look at that face! I could photograph this little model all day, every day and Saturday at Everal Barn & Homestead in Westerville, was an absolutely gorgeous day. The sun was shinning and there was a soft breeze blowing through the weeping willow. We could not have asked for a more beautiful Ohio day. We actually started Emma’s 6 month portraits with pictures of her mommy and daddy while Emma finished her nap. Emma’s mommy and daddy just celebrated their 3rd anniversary last month and are still the cutest couple. Once Emma woke up, it took her a couple of minutes to warm up to the camera, but the great thing about being six months old is you’re always cute. No matter what face you make. I call this the difference between mommy’s job and daddy’s job 😉Moving over to the weeping willow by the pond’s edge, Emma was entranced by the leaves moving slowly in the breeze and we got some amazing pictures of the whole family together. Keep smiling!...
