Corey + Sami: Vibrant Vintage Dawes Arboretum Wedding | Newark, Ohio

One of my favorite things about wedding photography is that every single wedding we attend is different. Each couple infuses their day with personal details and traditions that transform their wedding into something truly unique. Sami and Corey’s wedding day last Saturday at Dawes Arboretum was an amazing celebration of their love and relationship that was, at its essence, completely Sami and Corey. From her stunning red dress, to the 1950’s inspired vintage jewelry she donned, to the victory rolls and dresses of her amazing bridesmaids, Sami effortlessly captured a style and attitude all her own. We started the morning at the house of one of Sami’s bridesmaids in Pataskala, Ohio. The gorgeous backyard was a beautiful backdrop to photograph Sami’s bridal details. Her earring, bracelets, and necklace were on point and her black Betsey Johnson flats were amazing, but nothing compares to Sami’s red dress. Designed by the bride herself and brought to life by Henri’s Bridal, this dress was STUNNING. Just wait til you see her in it ūüėČ We slipped out into the 90 degree heat for a first look between Sami and Corey. They exchanged letters to each other in the shade before we explored the grounds of Dawes Arboretum for some bride and groom portraits. The ceremony was held in Bertie’s Garden on the grounds of Dawes Arboretum and was a beautiful backdrop for an intimate, unplugged ceremony. Sami and Corey’s touches of personality extended to the ceremony where they had a friend officiate the ceremony and had their dogs walk down the aisle as the four legged maid-of-honor and best man. Instead of...

It’s not every day you get to turn 6. And for Morgan’s sixth birthday, her mom decided to celebrate with portraits in the Short North and lots and lots of candy! We started our session in Goodale Park then made our way down High Street to Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop¬†to take some super cute photos and satisfy our sweet tooths?… teeth? However you’d say it, we had fun! Keep smiling!...
Tim + Brielle: Grace Fellowship Church Wedding | Pickerington, Ohio

Tim + Brielle: Grace Fellowship Church Wedding | Pickerington, Ohio

Tim and Brielle’s wedding last Friday was absolute perfection. A gorgeous, bright, sunny day that had everyone smiling from ear to ear. Not to mention, it was National Donut Day! Tim and Brie have been together for what feels like forever to me. As I mentioned in the blog about their Hilliard engagement pictures, Tim’s been a staple at our family events for years now, so I’m so glad to officially welcome him into the family! Brielle, Tim, and the wedding party got ready at Tim’s church in Lancaster, the 5th Avenue Church of Christ. While the girls got ready in the basement, the boys did whatever boys do on the morning of a wedding upstairs. Once everyone had slipped into their wedding attire, we headed down the block for Tim and Brielle’s first look. These two are so sweet together. I typically stay focused on the groom for the first look, but Brielle’s reaction to seeing Tim as her husband for the first time was my favorite! After some portraits of the happy couple, we¬†joined the bridal party for some more pictures before heading to the church for the vows. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Grace Fellowship Church in Pickerington. Brielle did such an amazing job decorating and filling the church with tiny touches that made the day beautiful and more intimate. After Tim and Brielle officially said “I do” it was time to party! Did I mention, there were donuts? Donuts! Brie and Tim exited that night under a tunnel of glow sticks and lived happily ever after =) Keep smiling!...
KJ + Jamie: Zion Church Wedding | Pickerington, Ohio

KJ + Jamie: Zion Church Wedding | Pickerington, Ohio

When I met with KJ and Jamie last October for their engagement session at Slate Run, I immediately knew their wedding was going to be a lot of fun. Both KJ and Jamie are easy going, wonderful, and so kind. Their love for each other, their family, and their friends made photographing their wedding last Saturday such a pleasure. Arriving at Zion Pickerington Church Saturday afternoon, I found Jamie and her bridesmaids in the nursery with a giant bag of skittles and even bigger smiles on their faces. The guys got ready on the other side of the church before we ultimately pulled KJ and Jamie together for a first look and bridal party portraits before the ceremony. After the ceremony, KJ and Jamie spent the evening visiting with family and friends. Right before sunset, we snuck outside for a few quick pictures before the rain started again. Great food and great music fueled the rest of the night which was capped off by a wonderful sparkler send-off. Congrats KJ and Jamie! Blake and I had such a great time documenting your day! I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you two! Keep smiling! Kaylina So much love for these amazing vendors who made their day perfect! Olivia & Henry: In-home Kids Lifestyle Portraits | Bexley, Ohio

Olivia & Henry: In-home Kids Lifestyle Portraits | Bexley, Ohio

Can I just start out by saying that I had so much fun with Olivia and Henry at their house last Saturday? It was a little rainy and grey out and Henry might not have been super, duper excited when I first arrived, but eventually I think I won him over and we got¬†a lot of great pictures. In home lifestyle portraits are my absolute favorite. Getting to take pictures of kids in their homes where they’re comfortable always lead to the best pictures. Yes, we take some formal “smile for the camera shots” but it’s more about getting natural, candid pictures of them being their goofy selves. And Olivia and Henry were all about that! About half way through the session, when the sun finally poked its head out from behind the grey clouds, we headed outside for some pictures. But more importantly – a tire swing! Keep smiling!...
