Tyler + Emily: New Albany High School Senior Portraits

Tyler + Emily: New Albany High School Senior Portraits

I shot Tyler and Emily’s senior portraits in October during one of the last truly warm days of the fall. Tyler and Emily are twins who will be graduating from New Albany High School in the spring. We began their senior picture session on New Albany High School’s sprawling campus then headed over to Creekside Plaza in Gahanna. At Creekside, Tyler and Emily’s family dogs jumped in on a few pictures and they did a great job humoring their mom with all of the poses she asked for (like all good children do). Tyler and Emily – thanks so much for waking up early on a weekend to smile for the camera. You guys were great and so much fun! I hope your senior year is amazing and best of luck in the future! Keep smiling!...

Nick + Britt: Fall Engagement Pictures at Dawes Arboretum | Newark, Ohio

I always love it when couples bring their dogs to their engagement sessions. Meeting the furry family members is such a fun part of my job, but I’ll be completely honest – I’ve never met a fur baby quite like Jorah. Nick and Britt’s sunny fall engagement session at Dawes Arboretum in Newark, Ohio in October was so much fun. Exploring the grounds with these two while the sun set was absolutely wonderful, but what made the night perfect was Jorah. Every person we passed wanted to pet him (and he happily obliged). He bounded a little clumsily through the woods and tall grass, always returning when called with that adorably large tongue hanging out of his mouth. I’m sorry, but I’m just a little obsessed with these three. Britt and Nick, in addition to being the best dog mom & dad you could find, are kind of the best people ever. They’re so sweet and easy going. These two are high school sweet hearts who have been (and will be) together forever. Like seriously, if a warm chocolate chip cookie could be a couple – it would be them. Just warm, fuzzy feelings all around. Did I mention I was just a little obsessed? We started their engagement session on a warm Saturday night in October at Dawes Arboretum. We explored the woods first as Jorah behaved perfectly. Doggy model status on point. As the sun began to get the most amazing golden glow, Britt and Nick changed into their second outfits and we headed towards the Japanese Gardens. Towards the end of the session I noticed some...
Bart + Gretchen: Swasey Chapel Wedding | Granville, Ohio

Bart + Gretchen: Swasey Chapel Wedding | Granville, Ohio

Bart and Gretchen are the perfect example of a couple made for each other. Their easy going demeanors, contagious smiles, and sense of humor make it obvious to anyone who has the pleasure of being around these two that they are a match made in heaven. It was a rainy fall afternoon, but Gretchen and Bart’s wedding was an absolutely perfect day. Surrounded by friends and family, these two celebrated their love in style. We started the day with the girls at Bryn Du Mansion in Granville, Ohio and the guys at the nearby Granville, Inn. After Gretchen slipped into her dress and the guys drank their share of bourbon, Gretchen and Bart shared an intimate first look at Swasey Chapel atop Denison University’s campus. It’s not often that I get a sun-drenched chapel with a bride and groom all to myself, so I was dying over the gorgeous light and setting for their first look and portraits immediately after. Photographer heaven. After we finished inside the church, we headed outside to finish their portraits and were joined by the rest of the bridal party. I loved this group – so much fun! Inside of Swasey Chapel, Bart and Gretchen’s ceremony was beautiful. Officiated by Bart’s uncle, Bart and Gretchen exchanged hand written vows and sealed their promise with rings and a kiss. After the ceremony, the party continued at Bryn Du Mansion. The field house at the mansion was filled with vintage touches that brought their special day to life. I loved their idea to have guests lend their autographs to old records as their guest book. Throughout...

Michael + Brandy: Autumn Engagement Pictures Highbanks Metro Park | Lewis Center, Ohio

Michael and Brandy just might be the cutest couple in the world. When we met at Highbanks Metro Park on Monday evening for their engagement session, I was so excited to see the leaves in their full autumn colors. And when I commented that not only their outfits, but Michael’s beard was coordinated for fall colors, Brandy said, “my favorite person and my favorite season”. They spent the rest of the evening snuggling and just being down right adorable. They made my job incredibly easy and I loved spending every moment with them. I seriously cannot wait for their wedding in February, it will be here before we know it! Brandy and Michael – thanks so much for taking time out of your week to explore Highbanks with me! You two are the cutest and I cannot wait to capture the moment you become husband and wife! Keep smiling...

David + Sarah: Ohio State University Engagement Photos | Columbus, Ohio

Sarah and David got engaged this past winter on a bench on the Oval at Ohio State University. David had it all planned out, they’d walk around campus together and he’d pop the question at the Whispering Wall at the end of the Oval, by the Wexner Center for the Arts. There was one problem: it was insanely cold and trying to casually convince Sarah to go on a seemingly mindless walk was a little difficult. So he adapted, and ended up asking Sarah to become his wife on a bench near University Hall at the other end of the Oval. And in the end, the exact location didn’t matter, because Sarah and David are engaged and they both describe that day as perfect. For Sarah and David’s engagement session last Sunday, we met at Thompson Library on OSU’s campus to explore the oval, head down to the Wexner Center, and take advantage of the beauty of the Horseshoe. It was a perfect fall night and I had so much fun getting to know Sarah and David. They are so much fun to be around and I cannot wait for their wedding next September in Cleveland. Keep smiling!...
