Bart and Gretchen are the perfect example of a couple made for each other. Their easy going demeanors, contagious smiles, and sense of humor make it obvious to anyone who has the pleasure of being around these two that they are a match made in heaven. It was a rainy fall afternoon, but Gretchen and Bart’s wedding was an absolutely perfect day. Surrounded by friends and family, these two celebrated their love in style.
We started the day with the girls at Bryn Du Mansion in Granville, Ohio and the guys at the nearby Granville, Inn. After Gretchen slipped into her dress and the guys drank their share of bourbon, Gretchen and Bart shared an intimate first look at Swasey Chapel atop Denison University’s campus.
It’s not often that I get a sun-drenched chapel with a bride and groom all to myself, so I was dying over the gorgeous light and setting for their first look and portraits immediately after. Photographer heaven.
After we finished inside the church, we headed outside to finish their portraits and were joined by the rest of the bridal party. I loved this group – so much fun!
Inside of Swasey Chapel, Bart and Gretchen’s ceremony was beautiful. Officiated by Bart’s uncle, Bart and Gretchen exchanged hand written vows and sealed their promise with rings and a kiss.
After the ceremony, the party continued at Bryn Du Mansion. The field house at the mansion was filled with vintage touches that brought their special day to life. I loved their idea to have guests lend their autographs to old records as their guest book. Throughout the night, guests enjoyed amazing food, laughter courtesy of some great toasts, and of course plenty of drinks and dancing.
Gretchen and Bart – thank you so much for having us be part of your big day! It is such an honor to spend such an important day with you and your family. I am so happy for you as you begin the next great chapter of your story. And of course, I hope you’re enjoying Costa Rica!
Keep smiling!
Kaylina
