Andrew and Alissa said “I do” last Saturday in a beautiful, intimate ceremony under an old tree on Alissa’s family’s land in Delaware, Ohio. The entire day, from getting ready in the morning to the sparkler send-off at night, was a family affair that had everyone pitching in and helping make the happy couple’s day complete. Alissa and Andrew got ready at family members’ homes on the estate, got married by a family member, had catering, music, and flowers provided by close family friends, and spent their evening soaking in all of the love and laughter of their family and friends.
It’s a special feeling when you’re surrounded by that much love. So instead of trying to explain it, I’ll let the pictures of Alissa and Andrew’s big day speak for themselves.
Alissa gifted Andrew with her promise ring the morning of the ceremony. It was such a sweet gift, that truly showed that she’d been waiting her whole life for Andrew to become her husband. Just before the ceremony, Alissa also opened a gift from Andrew – a beautiful diamond necklace. After reading the note, Alissa discovered that the stone in the necklace belonged to her great-grandmother. Her reaction was priceless.
Alissa and Andrew put so much thought and attention into every aspect of their day that every little detail of their wedding had special significance. Andrew is originally from Texas, so you might notice the great state and the Dallas Cowboys make an appearance a few times throughout the day.
My two favorite things about Andrew and Alissa’s big day? Firstly, Andrew and Alissa both share the initials ‘AC’ and since they’re both math majors, Andrew and Alissa created a little equation for their union: (AC)². Secondly, popsicles. Need I say more?
Alissa and Andrew took part in a foot-washing ceremony during their wedding ceremony and it was beautiful. The love, humility, servitude, and devotion it symbolizes was a perfect way to start their journey as husband and wife. After the foot-washing, their families prayed over them as a group, cementing the role of Jesus in their lives and marriage.
Did I mention that Alissa’s family’s property is right behind a greenhouse?
Alissa and Andrew – thank you so much to you and your families for letting me be a part of your wedding day. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and taken care of, and I cannot thank you all enough for being your amazing selves. Your wedding day was beautiful, special, and exactly what a celebration of love should be. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have an amazing honeymoon next week!
Keep smiling!
